Shop Cops…GenArt's Shop CHICago

We decided to take it inside this time. Shop CHICago took place at Union Station Thursday, March 30. We were actually quite impressed with the turnout, venue, retailers, designers and had a great time. Even we admit that the first 70 degree day (in seemingly years) made it difficult to find just the right clothes to wear.

This was the scene this past Thursday at Union Station.
Ready for Action
Jana Hammer looked fantastic and ready for spring. She wore a trench with a great handbag and we loved her shoes. We also give her major props for NOT wearing black!
Seeing Red
Sometimes you have to wonder, do your clothes really excite you? Lord know, they didn’t thrill us. We pray she bought something she loved that was flattering that evening.
Black and Blue
Jeans circa 2000 with black. Very original. With our favorite black square-toed shoes that you only ever see in the Midwest anymore. Please boycott DSW. We blame them for these.
Stylin’ and Profilin’
How amazing does Barbara Katonen look in her silk top, kickin’ boots and skinny jeans tucked in? The best part? Her top is from H&M. We LOVE it!
The 90’s called. They want their leopard clothing back! Contrasting animal prints? Do we need to explain this one?
Close, but yet so far
The top has potential but the paired with the full skirt it is a miss. The worst offense? Those boots! Those are meant to be worn with pants (if at all) and hit the widest part of the calf. A great pair of peep-toe wedges and a straighter pencil skirt would have looked much better.
Marky Bielat hit this one out of the park. We stalked her. Her fabulous Patrizia Pepe trench caught our attention. Then we noticed the shoes, bag, outfit… she was fab! Figures she owns a recently opened Italian shoe store aptly called Marky. We know where we will be shoe shopping.
