This past Thursday, Second City Style attended an unusually hip fashion show in Chicago, Finally! Eskell’s Spring 2006 Ready-to-Wear Collection debuted at the Seven Ten Bowling Lounge, quite a different venue than one might expect. The collection was a mix between Beach Blanket Bingo and Erte’s Deco. The result? Some very unique and tempting pieces that did not look like the same old, same old we have been seeing all spring. The venue, music and mood played off the fashions perfectly. My favorite? The Big Wave Strap Dress $290 which reminded me of New York’s Chrysler Building.

Eskell Boutique at 953 W Webster Ave. has been one of my favorites this past year for affordable and hard to find in Chicago….unusual fashions. Now they have their own line to add o the mix. Kelly Whitesell and Elizabeth Del Castillo have an eye for clean lines and modern details. Their backgrounds compliment and play off each other well…a true collaboration. We also love that their pieces are manufactured right here in Chicago.

The line will be available at their store and online (website not completed yet) sometime in May. For more information contact the boutique at 773.477.9390. Run, don’t walk.
