Keeping their name in the game
Think I’m over-reacting? See if you can name the designer just by checking out her collection… yeah, that’s what I thought.
So you know all the big brands and maybe you can name a couple of the up and comers you’ve seen blurbed at GenArt and mentioned ever-so-casually on fashiontribes.com, but what about the middle ground? Too often these names are mentioned but not “knownâ€? except for the hard-core fashion fanatic. After all, it’s that place between the über-brand and the cult of the newcomer that often makes or breaks a designer trying to stay in the market with her own collection. Spanning the recognition scale from “dressing Ms. Zeta-Jonesâ€? to “staying the course,â€? these ladies are worth the investment and the interest. So just this once, forego the MJ splurge and the spree at H & M and make an investment in one of these sirens or at least start dropping their names as much as the big boys.
