Summary: I have to admit, I have never particularly been a Marc Jacobs fan. I prefer his marc by Marc Jacobs line, truth be told. Something happens on the way from runway to the real way, however. I begin to like it. Marc Jacobs either grows on me or it mellows like a good red wine on the way to the stores. This collection seemed a bit unfocused and not an easy sell to the mainstream, but then again it can take a while to ‘get’ Marc Jacobs. I really can’t picture a woman walking down the street in one of the feathered caps…without other birds coming to nest.
Color Palette: white, creme, black, ombre gray, holographic sequins, silver, blue-gray.
Textures & Details:
tulle, jersey, deconstructed cashmere, tiered lace, tees, t-shirt dresses, silk dresses, pleated tulip pants, cotton button-down, feathers
cropped cotton jackets layered over a tunic over sheer leggings, voluminous pleated skirts, tier skirts with sequined tops or long bomber coats, loud sequined bags, horizontal striped dresses with huge flowing sleeves, metallic leather bags, Platform thong sandals, sequined caps and fedoras, pill-box hats with feathers (my personal favorite).
