Fashion Week Spring ’07. Cool as a Chic Cucumber in Subtle Shades & Understated Shapes at Peter Som. Second City Style Fashion Blog

September 13, 2006 • New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer '07

Summary: Som
is beloved by fashion editors & socialites for his impeccably chic,
unstated silhouettes & colors that easily travel from uptown to
downtown & across the Pond. A muted color palette of steel grey,
dove grey, blush, pale yellow, and mint green dominated a collection of
chic little dresses, trapeze chiffon babydolls, jersey tunics, and
coats. Only a vintage floral print & a striking ruffled teal coat –
that almost resembled a ruffled & puff-sleeved knee-length dress
that had been sliced down center front – added hits of color. Gorgeous
red carpet gowns in muted blush & blue hues were stunning.

Color Palette: steel & dove grey, milk chocolate, blush, pale yellow, mint green, pale pinstriped chiffon, vintage floral, bright teal

Textures & Details:

trapeze chiffon babydolls belted only in the front & loose-swinging
from the back; delicately pinstriped chiffon; ruffles, ¾
vintage-inspired structured jackets

Key Looks:

ruffled teal day coat; ¾ length 3-button vintage-inspired jacket; floor
length strapless gown in shades of blush & pale blue tied at the
empire with a long flowing ribbon in black or red
