We first told you about the opening of Roslyn in Wicker Park/Bucktown back in August Roslyn Daily Dish, but we were sworn to secrecy not to name names (designer names that is). Now we can!

Located at 2035 N. Damen, the boutique will boast labels from NYC, LA, and Europe. At opening expect to see apparel by: Miranda Bennett (Parsons School of Design), Liz McClean, Christopher Deane, Lynne Larson, Clu, Milton Carter, Frenzii and Julie Haus. Roslyn will also be adding; Vera Wang Lavender, Shoshanna, Konstantina, Nina Laziridi, Black Halo, Thread Social, Jovovich-Hawk, Jill Stuart, Lauren Moffatt, Alice Roi, Minx, Blake Standard and Robin.

Now before you hyperventilat, Roslyn will carry a maximum of 4 pieces per style and about 10 styles per designer. Once the item is sold in your size, it’s gone!

This is the best part. Unlike the majority of Chicago boutiques that carry two or three pieces of a designers line (so you can’t/don’t understand their vision), Roslyn is organized by designer racks to highlight each designer/ collection is by itself. In front of each rack is a framed biography of the designer and what the collection represents for the season. “I want it to be a gallery of sorts- so that the customer is educated about the garments they are about to see,â€? said owner Roslyn Dulyapaibul.

“I really want to get to know my customers. If someone wants something in a particular color or size, I’ll contact the designer and try to get it for them. If they need me to open early or close late for a fashion emergency…not a problem!â€?

While the store will be primarily for women, there will be some boyfriend/husband collections for them to peruse while you are trying on your garments or if you need to pick him up a little something to feel a little less guilty. The men’s collection consists of: Nicholas K, SAVE Khaki, Alexander Wang, Transit from Italy, Steven Alan, John Bartlett, and Milton Carter graphic tees from Brooklyn.

Education and fashion…what could be better?
