Second City Style’s 12 Days Of Christmas (Shopping). Haute Historian Stephanie Miller’s Picks.

It has been said that material possessions can’t bring true happiness, that clothes don’t make a person and that the best things in life are free. Ba Humbug! A pair of Marc Jacob black patent leather and suede ankle boots with a stacked heel can make me happy. Very happy. Below are five items that have made it on my holiday lust list.

1. Thomas Wylde “Newborn Baby Portabello slouchy leather shoulder bag.
The leather is so soft I can see why this casual-chic bag has been aptly named. With skull rivets, zipper pull detailing, a chain shoulder strap and two outside pockets, my dream bag is versatile and perfect for a girl on-the-go. $1525 Available at my favorite store, Barneys New York and Barney’s COOP..

2. Azzeline Alaia 7 For All Mankind Skinny Jean.

My favorite denim brand paired with one my most coveted designers. This collaboration brings me more holiday joy than a gingerbread latte. The slight stretch allows the denim to hug you in all the right places and the black leather lace-up at the hip is subtly sexy touch. $325 at Barneys CO-Op (Hint: mix high with low, I wear my Alaia’s with my black faux suede ankle boots from Target.)

3. Barney’s New York Studded Low Kneeboot.

A part of my heart belongs in the country, therefore these tap toe sequin and studded cowboy boots are on my lust list. With supple leather and easy to wear pull-on style, these boots can transition from a prairie to a party. $630 at Barneys CO-OP.

4. Stripped Sequin Dress.

No trip to London is complete without paying homage to TopShop. I love that the sequins are flirty not flashy, and it resembles Gucci’s version. Pour me a glass of Vueve. Happy New Year! $80 at Topshop.

5. Diane Von Furstenberg “Elisano Dress.

The one shoulder design flaunts just enough skin and the bubble silhouette is perfect for the holiday season. Already a wrap dress devotee, I would be thrilled to wear this velvet number to any Christmas party. $385 at Intermix
