Style Ideas. Holiday Cocktails Should Be Stylish & Not Always Expensive. Second City Style Fashion Blog

December 6, 2006 • Fashion

We know that most of the holiday looks you have been seeing on websites and in magazines of late have been pretty expensive. At least one item makes you cry…WHY? I mean, you’d love to buy that Matthew Williamson gown, but you just can’t afford it right now. Heck, we are guilty of doing it to you too. Is there anyway to put together a whole look that won’t put you in the poor house?

Dress: Leopard Print Chiffon Babydoll Dress $72.20 Meow. Guess who’s on the prowl! Now don’t get too excited about finding your shoes here because they won’t ship shoes to the US. Never fear, we have you covered…

Shoes: Black patent leather platform pumps are the perfect compliment to the dress. If you can find ones with more of a stacked heel, great. For now, these will do. rsvp Julia $79.95 Zappos

Jacket: A little faux-fur glam will go a long way. You have to love this black Glamour Coat, mostly for it’s $56 price tag and that you can wear it everywhere! Style Violet

Clutch: Make sure the clutch is black, but has anything going on except patent leather. Chose a different texture than your shoes. If sparkle ain’t your thing, try suede. Black Mesh Metal Clutch $24.99

Bling: Work a big cocktail ring. Keep the necklace and earrings understated. I’m sure you already own those. Large Rectangle Purple Stone Ring $15.20

Grand Total: $250 (not including shipping, which seems to be minimal with so much free shipping be offered right now).

Now, get shopping! You don’t have much time.
