Holiday Giving. Designer Stockings To Be Auctioned on Ebay. The Perfect Time to Give & Receive. Second City Style Fashion Blog

December 20, 2006 • Events

Women’s Wear Daily asked a handful of amazing — and merrily
generous — designers to craft one-of-a-kind stockings and fill each
with all sorts of goodies for an imaginary typical customer.

Today through Saturday, this haute hosiery — and all the treats therein — will be auctioned on eBay (
beginning at 6:00 P.M. EST to benefit Citymeals-on-Wheels, which
provides weekend and holiday meals to New York City’s homebound

They may not arrive in time for Christmas but who cares when you can receive such treats as Vera Wang’s "Grey Gardens" Broadway tickets, Rodarte’s
"Tender Is the Night," Marc by Marc Jacobs’ ribbon watch, Tuleh’s
ostrich clutch, Heatherette’s bubble-gum-print tank top and Alexander
McQueen’s skeleton key chain — not to mention the bliss of helping
others — will deliver thrills long after that Rockefeller Center tree
has turned to mulch. Not to mention you get the priceless couture stockings themselves,
if an instant heirloom isn’t worth waiting for, what is? Check out the loot!
