Fashion designers must be feeling generous these days because their runways were full of models all wrapped up and tied with a bow, just like a present.
I haven’t seen so many bows since the ‘80s and after that phenomenon faded, fashionistas had a general distaste for the girly embellishment. As in, “no frills, no frou and please no bows”. When they left us last, bows were pink, satin, oversized and overdone.
But no worries, bows are back with less femininity and more edge. They’re looped, knotted, gathered and strung…but my favorite are chic bows in black, tied smartly around the waist.
1. Carolina Herrera used a dark bow as the finishing touch to a graphic floral print dress. It adds interest and dimension to the look.
2. Donna Karan goes for contrast with a draped halter in ivory, cinched with a black ribbon that makes a deep V look nothing but demure.See the Top Ten Summer 2016 Trends for Women Over 40
