Summary: I was looking forward to this show more than most. I adored Alice Roi’s RTW collection Fall ’06, so I couldn’t wait. This year was very different. This season Roi went more unconstructed then in seasons past which made for a confusing and somewhat somber showing. There was a profusion of boiled wool chunky sweaters, mohair and knit dresses that mostly looked itchy. Some hems were frayed, some were fringed. Some pieces were very fitted and others were draped at the hips like blankets. There was plaid, brocade silk and denim made from XL. There were some great pieces. I loved the black dress with metallic bronze edged ruffles near the shoulder called a ‘contusion’ dress. There was also a lovely ivory silk dress that was belted at the waist.
