Theme: Bringing a ray of hope to an otherwise somber season, Gustavo Arango brings shimmer and color, discarding fall’s typical black canvas.
Color Palette: Amber (peach), black/charcoal, champagne, copper, plum, sapphire, slate and emerald.
Materials and Textures: Silk, chiffon over beads, velvet with silk chiffon, organza.
Key looks: A gorgeous silk/satin tuxedo, windowpane selk emerald dress, plum silk parachute dress, a pleated strapless dress with python belt, a black silk chiffon dress with velvet straps, a sapphire silk parachute gown with a contrasting slate bodice. Sheer blouses and jewel-toned velvet skirts and dresses added interest without overwhelming. Hemlines don’t venture too far above the knee. Footwear included platforms with rounded toes in black patent leather. Hair was pulled back and loosened just a bit in the front.
