Color Palette: Black, ivory, nude, and silver, with one ruby red gown being the only pop of color.
Textures and Details: Trompe l’oeil, elaborate beading, fur trim, Grecian-style draping, some menswear touches. In contrast to the ornate clothes, the hair and makeup was simple and sleek.
Key Looks: The whole collection was very Art Deco – the kind of thing that a modern flapper girl would wear. Like Monique Lhuillier, we’ll definitely see some of these pieces at the awards shows.
Overall Impression: Marchesa created the kind of glamorous dresses that make every girl feel like a starlet.
