Fashion Week Fall 2007. Structured Elegance at Y & Kei. Second City Style Fashion Blog.

February 9, 2007 • New York Fashion Week Fall '07

For some reason, this collection reminds me of both Calvin Klein and Donna Karan, with a little Diane Von Furstenberg thrown in.  The simple but structured shapes and clean lines were vaguely reminiscent of 90s minimalism

Color Palette: Black, white, silver, with some cranberry red thrown in.  The models’ makeup had similar warm reddish tones to it, which helped to heat up an otherwise icy collection.

Textures and Details: Again with the liquid silver dresses – there was plenty of satin and silk charmeuse.  Opera length leather gloves were the standout accessory.

Key Looks: Pencil skirts, very defined, belted waists, and blousy tops and jackets were the main silhouettes.  The oversized jackets with bracelet length sleeves were fabulous paired with narrow bottoms – particularly the black leather numbers.  Flowy, goddessy evening dresses were the nighttime uniform of the Y & Kei girl, and there were also little knee-length satin dresses for a more casual but still glamorous look.

Overall Impression: Chic and sleek clothes for city girls.
