My favorite designer, Giorgio Armani showed in Milan yesterday. For those who may not know, the Italian designer established his own menswear line
in 1974 and a womenswear line the following year. His understated and elegant
designs are noted for their precision cut, craftsmanship and relaxed fit.
Once again he proved that he is a master at designing jackets, but instead of showing them with pants as he usually does, he opted for above the knee skirts which gave his line a more youthful vibe.
What was missing was his eveningwear (he only showed one gown), which is usually nothing short of spectacular. There were however, many cocktails dresses with ballooned hems, detailed and strapless bodices and a few in the season’s new neutral…metallic. Armani is most probably saving his eveningwear for his Armani Privé presentation in Los Angeles this Saturday night February 24th (the night before the Oscars). To bad it’s invite-only.
