What a whirlwind week it was indeed. Over 220 shows in 8 days
is more than any human could endure and thankfully, I didn’t have to.
New York Fashion Week has gotten out of control, but that is an issue
for another time. Second City Style reviewed 58 shows of which you can read the reviews here.

Some trends remained from last fall (gray, dresses, skinny pants, menswear, opaque tights and bows) while others were new
(chunky knits, amped-up metallics, hats and fur). The one noticeable
difference was…the more fitted, body-conscious silhouettes.
Thankfully designers got back in touch with the female form and
realized that most of us could not pull off the massive styles of ’06
and not look like we weighed 300 pounds. Clearly the pleas of retailers
across America were heard and while Fall ’07 was not revolutionary, it
was necessary.

You will still see oversized jackets, but they will be paired with
something slender on the bottom like skinny leg pants or a pencil
skirt. A-line dresses will be worn with a fitted jacket or a chunky
knit sweater that pulls the dress in at all the right places.

Here is a look at some of the trends for Fall 2007 and which designers showed them: Read more here
