Old Hollywood is definitely a major theme in Milan thus far, and Salvatore Ferragamo fit right in with a collection that was reminiscent of the late, great Katharine Hepburn, with a bit of an Art Deco twist. There was lots of houndstooth (in the form of tailored jackets, trenches, and wide leg, slouchy pants), rich velvet (in a gorgeous burnished garnet shade), tuxedo details, silver beading, and elegant column gowns.
Some of the most memorable pieces were delicate forest green chiffon cocktail dresses, shawl-collared jackets, silver dresses, and a feathery top paired with tweed trousers (this works better than it sounds, check out the picture below). Lips were painted burgundy, eyes were neatly defined and a little smoky, and hair was slicked back with a deep side part – all in all, it was highly dramatic.
