Milan Fashion Week ’07. All Leather and No Lace at Burberry Prorsum. Second City Style Fashion Blog.

February 22, 2007 • Fashion Shows

Burberry Prorsum was all hard edges this season, with sharply tailored leather jackets, crisp trenches, short, tight skirts, and multi-buckled belts – definitely clothes for the bad girl in all of us.  Done almost completely in black, gray and olive (with one metallic orchid shift), everything had a futuristic military feel.

The devil was in the details, with quilted leather and black patent gloves that had industrial zippers running up the arms.  The coats were the standout pieces (fitting for Burberry), with black, gray, and carmel leather trenches and a fur coat with chevron detailing leading the way.  Many had bracelet length or shorter sleeves in order to show off the elaborate gloves.  There was also a plush black number with a wide triple-buckled belt that was utterly luxurious, and the sparkly shifts were the perfect foils to the rather severe coats.

Overall Impression: An edgy, chic collection that’s actually pretty wearable.
