Milan Fashion Week ’07. Missoni Breathes New Life Into Old Prints. Second City Style Fashion Blog.

February 23, 2007 • Fashion Shows

The fall 2007 Missoni collection was all about the prints, which is business as usual for a label that was built on it’s trademark colorful zigzag prints.  However, there were also some interesting solid pieces and colorblock dresses done in shades of brown, beige, green, blue, pink, and black.  Standouts included a deep blue and rust printed wrap dress paired with fur trimmed gloves, loose column gowns reined in with braided leather belts, and a slate blue sleeveless a-line dress with a wide red leather belt at the waist.  Some of the coats were pretty fabulous too – rust brown leather bomber jackets and fur-trimmed toppers.

The real standouts, though, were the accessories.  From the leather fedoras to the slouchy boots criss-crossed with laces, the models were outfitted top to toe in carefully styled looks. There was more than a bit of a bohemian seventies feel, with ostrich saddle bags, wide leg pants, and layered nubby knits.  It’s only fitting for a label that made it big based on exactly that kind of look.
