Oscar Fashion 2007. Good, Bad and…Eh. Second City Style Fashion Blog

February 26, 2007 • Celebrity Style

Yeah! Martin Scorcese finally won! I digress.

Cate Blanchett is luminous in a shimmering Armani Privé gown in gunmetal gray with a single embellished shoulder strap

Kirsten Dunst in a silver beaded Chanel Couture gown with feather accents.

Nicole Kidman in Balenciaga…love.

Reese Witherspoon layered chiffon gown from Nina Ricci by Olivier Theyskens.

Not bad…

Is she or isn’t she pregnant? Who cares? Naomi Watts looked elegant in this lemon-yellow gown by Emanuel Ungaro.

Maggie Gyllenhaal in a single-shouldered Proenza Schouler gown in black and midnight blue with a feather-trimmed hem.

OK, I’m not crazy about Jessica Biel‘s Oscar de la Renta pink forck, but this chick has a rocking bod and I hate her…

I wanted to like Rachel Weisz‘s silver Vera Wang gown more, but I can’t.

I hate pastel green…

Kate Winslet‘s daughter chose her pastel green one-shoulder Valentino gown. She’s six.

Beyonce Knowles ruining a soft mint-green (this pains me) Armani Privé gown. Why?

Not so much…

JLo channeling Liz Taylor in an empire-waist Marchesa gown.

Gwyneth Paltrow wore Zac Posen. I didn’t care for the color on her, nor did I care for her fiddling with her long straggly hair all evening so we could be graced with the view of her back. Wear your hair up or cut it.

Jada Pinkett Smith looking hard, stiff and contrived in her corseted copper strapless gown by Carolina Herrera.

I had high hopes for Jennifer Hudson who had been kickin’ the style hits lately, but this draped brown gown and silver bolero jacket by Oscar de la Renta just didn’t do it. I was also sad she didn’t thank God for George Clooney presenting her the Oscar. I would have jumped him. Missed opportunity. However, I’m thrilled she won!

Hated it…

Penelope Cruz in a dusty rose nightmare by Versace.

Cameron Diaz. Please, listen to me…dye your hair blond again and wear a color, any color…no more white! Even if it is Valentino.

Kelly Preston, listen, when your husband John Travolta told you you looked hot in your leopard-print Dolce & Gabbana gown, he was lying.

I hate pastel green, but I loathe this green more on Isla Fisher. However, I love her fiance, Sacha Baron Cohen.

Anne Hathaway in Valentino, that bow…oh no.

How is Melissa Rivers allowed to critique runway fashion wearing this? Seriously.
