For the past three years I’ve hosted an Oscar Viewing Party, at
which I pass out official ballots and fashion quizzes, serve an
assortment of food and drink too much wine. This year, however, at
eleven o’clock at night when the Academy was finally announcing Best
Picture, I realized that the fashion hoopla and red carpet hype can seem highly irrelevant, even to the most fashionable fashionistas.
When was the last time I actually got dressed up? Sure, I wear one
cocktail dress after another for weddings, but I rarely have the chance
