Although it was windy and sleeting outdoors, it was positively Zen-like indoors at the Zodiac Restaurant in Neiman Marcus. The occasion? The AmorePacific skincare launch at Neiman Marcus Michigan Avenue, Chicago. While the brand may be new to some, it’s actually a 40-year-old company that is grounded in the healing effects of Korean green tea and other rare Asian botanical ingredients that combine to provide cutting-edge rejuvenation for your skin.
On hand to speak personally about the skincare line was Lisa Ling, AmorePacific brand ambassador or better known as the host of the National Geographic Explorer, a correspondent for the Oprah Winfrey Show and previously, as a co-host of The View.
Ling said she pledged her dedication to the product after her constant travels began to take a toll on her skin. That combined with spending the last five wintry months in Chicago made her, in her words, obsessed with AmorePacific moisturizer. Specifically, Ling touted the Time Response cream that was later described to me as working much like allergy pills do, releasing the good stuff all day long, not just when applied. As Brand Ambassador, Ling visited Cheju, the island home to the green tea gardens of AmorePacific, among her many travels. She also raved about the AmorePacific Beauty Gallery and Spa in SoHo.
During the complimentary skin consultation, I found my favourite product – Hydrating Fluid – a spray made from bamboo sap that leaves a fresh veil of moisture on the skin.
