The TV Guide Channel pulled the red carpet from under Joan and Melissa Rivers yesterday. The snarky mother-and-daughter team were dumped from their pre-show hosting spots on awards shows carried by the channel and replaced with Lisa Rinna.
Their pre-show show was really starting to stink in my opinion. I want to know who the stars are wearing, not listen to them make bad jokes and have no idea who they are talking to (Joan). However, the choice for replacement is rather bland.
Rinna will make her red-carpet hosting debut for TV Guide at the "Primetime Emmy Awards" in September. "I think I was born to do this sort of thing," Rinna told the Daily News. "I love fashion; I absolutely love award shows and celebrities – I’m crazy about them."
Joan and Melissa Rivers had been staples on award show red carpets for years, first at E! Entertainment, and then at the TV Guide Channel. However, over time, Joan Rivers became known more for her mistakes in questioning stars, rather than being able to get them. This could also be due to the fact that she is 100 and losing her faculties?
With "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest hosting E!’s coverage and Lisa Rinna hosting TV Guide’s, we will be blessed with serious lameness and butt-kissing.
