It happened last January when I was at the MCA Chicago for a celebration of 100 years of Beckett. Standing around in my typical black attire I saw her: she was wearing this amazing indigo and yellow ensemble and bright red lipstick and I was in awe– she looked amazing. I suddenly imagined what my life would be like if I, too, could muster up the courage to wear this kind of color. Was she an actress, an artist, a dancer or just a lawyer who had impeccable style? She had boldly and brazenly adorned herself in glorious color in the standard sea of safely-clad muted winter tones. And while I am sure she thought I was as crazy as a loon for staring for the duration of the evening, I am still in awe but a bit more courageous as I scout this spring’s spirited colors.– Joanne Molina for Second City Style
