That’s one more for the online fashion magazine and blog side. Another nail was pounded in the coffin of print magazines today. Jane magazine has folded, according to Fashion Week Daily. According to their sources at Condé Nast Publications, Jane’s parent organization, staffers returned from the long holiday weekend and were informed of the news this morning.
Editor-in-chief Brandon Holley and vice president/publisher Carlos Lamadrid have left the building. Staffers have been told they are welcome to interview for new positions within Condé Nast. Jane’s final issue will be the August issue and their website (janemag.com) will be shut down. Founded in September 1997 by Jane Pratt, Holley was named August 8, 2005 having previously been at Ellegirl.
If you are looking for a job at Condé Nast, now might not be the time. R.I.P.
