Nancy Reagan in the Red Room of the White House circa 1981

When I think of stylish first lady’s I think of Jacki O and Nancy Reagan. Jackie has been a subject of facination for years. Now it’s Nancy Reagan’s turn. Her carefully crafted style will be the subject of a new exhibition, “Nancy Reagan—a First Lady’s
Style,” that debuts this fall at the Ronald Reagan Presidential
Library in Simi Valley, California.

On November 8 Diane von Furstenberg will serve as master of ceremonies at a
private gala reception to open the show.

The exhibit will showcase
over 75 dresses, suits, and gowns, and at the same time will not only
honor Nancy Reagan, but the men and women who helped define her style as well.
The designs on display will include pieces by Geoffrey Beene, Bill
Blass, Valentino Garavani, James Galanos, Carolina Herrera, Adolfo
Sardiña, Yves Saint Laurent, and Oscar de la Renta.
