September 5, 2007 • New York Fashion Week Spring '08

Summary: Just when you thought it was safe to spend your winter eating cupcakes…BCBG decided to take it in a notch, particularly after a fall showing of loose fitting clothes. Say buh-bye to the babydoll dress and hello to fitted clothes. Thank god. Everything was erethal, flowy, light as air (read transparent) and muted. This was a great collection for those of us who dabble in color but are afraid to commit.

Color Palette: Gravel, off-white, ivory, heather oatmeal, brown ash, dark gravel, taupe rose, petal, lilac, taupe, misty hazel, dove grey, seafoam, marigold and black.

Textures & Details: silk organza, tulle, rayon twill, voile, cashmere, cotton crochet, jacquard, silk charmeuse, silk twill, silk jersey, taffeta, corseting, boning, brown leather belts (tied, not belted), bustiers, slingback pumps with patent cap-toe.

Key Looks: Ivory textured voile dress with pleated neck over an ivory slipdress, white rayon twill wrap dress over a white tulle slipdress with lace hem, brown ash silk twill v-neck dress that tied in front, misty haze silk charmeuse panel coat dress, seafoam silk organza wrap dress wit a sheer overlay and a black silk organza coat with pleated pockets.
