Summary: In the past, Grey Ant may have been known for its fashion show runway theatrics and funky nightclub lighting, but this time, with just a simple white runway at the Soho Grand and pieces playing up asymmetrical tops, structured waists and color blocked linens, the funky West Coast label may have been just a little bit basic. Still, large afro-style wigs, bouffant hairdos, sky-high stilettos and thick blue eyeliner made the stylish party brand anything but ordinary. And the clothes weren’t half bad either!
Color Palette: Grey, white, silver, purple, yellow, black, red, light blue, pink, khaki and denim blue

I love the high waist denim look that have made Grey Ant denim gurus! (Still, I wasn’t a huge fan of the charcoal gray high waist trouser, strapless bikini top combo.) Also seen on the runway, structured high waist shorts, transparent blouses, crescent shaped bottom dresses (perfect for JLo booties,) women wearing mens’ shirts as oversize shirtdresses, and lots of asymmetrical patterned, and dyed linen designs and color blocked v-cut halters. There was a little too much gray for my taste, but it sure made the tight purple and yellow dress and billowy black and red cover-all pop. Grey Ant’s color combinations stole the show! (Lots of gray and black pairings and a bit of white and yellow.) We also took a peek into Grey Ant’s spring menswear collection with two ubiquitous male models who showcased oversize ponchos and hoods and one interesting linen pantsuit that looked like a pair of overalls gone astray. Finally, those thin heeled stilettos! A sight to behold! How those models walked in those sky high Teva peep toes is beyond me! An homage to Balenciaga’s Lego heels perhaps? Overall feel? Anything but basic!
