NY Fashion Week Spring ’08. Luca Luca’s Lovely Ladies. Second City Style Fashion Blog

September 11, 2007 • New York Fashion Week Spring '08

Summary: I am partial to Luca Luca. Especially after being totally dazzled last February buy Luca Orlandi’s blingy fall collection. The spring collection was surprisingly muted, but elegantly translucent which seems to be another trend for spring…flowing layers of organdy and chiffon for a guazy effect. The collection of body-skimming dresses in colors like oyster, blush and seafoam was a complete 360 from last season. However, it worked beautifully, even if one expected more zing.

Color Palette: white, cream, oyster, blush, mauve, violet, seafoam, sage, turquoise, ombre

Textures & Details: silk, rayon, silk chiffon, wool, washed silk, eyelet, organza, cashmere, crochet silk, georgette, linen gauze, shantung, jacquard, taffeta, patchwork, fagotting detail, beadwork

Key Looks: blush silk and rayon jacquard coat with blush silk chiffon patchwork dress with fagotting detail; blush cropped wool jacket with a blush silk and cashmere knit top and blush silk pants; mauve linen gauze trench coat with a seafoam organza top and mauve linen gauze pants; seafoam printed silk chiffon dress; sage linen gauze coat with a white rayon bathing suit; mauve silk taffeta dress with pleated detailing and beadwork; mauve silk and rayon gown with enameled beadwork.
