For those of you who were fugged out by Jacobs collection last night, the Marc by Marc Jacobs collection might be more on par. Less daring and more straightforward he remained true to his use of primary colors, asymmetric shapes and sparkle, but toned it WAY down. Closer to the more polished style of his winter collection this is certainly the line that is most reminiscent.
Nevertheless, the same optimistic and punchy charm is evident in his reprise of the circle (circular logic), maxed out bows and use of Legos(?) as accessories — see the belt buckle if you don’t believe me. Per usual, his coats were cute and clever — a wonderful over-sized plaid raincoat and a shiny putty-colored mac really hit the mark. Hats made an appearance but in neon-bright primary hues of red, yellow and blue.
Still inspiring but like the Legos, building blocks to make the sale.
