I saw this fine picture of Jennifer Garner…and I fell in love! Not literally! (Ben Affleck, you can have her!) It was all about the clothes. The former Alias star looked quite Victorian chic in her menswear look (Couture Couture by Juicy cream lace button-down with bell sleeves and high-waist skirt dress combo,) while promoting her new move The Kingdom…and just in time for fall!!
This fall, Second City Style all about the feminine menswear look–pencil skirts, sleek white button-down and Victorian style blouses, vests, fedoras, ruffles, pinstripes, suspenders, oxfords, briefcase bags, blazers and crisp wide-leg trousers. Jennifer Garner seems to have it down pat. It’s the best we’ve ever seen her. Here are some other celebs wearing menswear looks we love:
Kate Bosworth looked quite the formal fashion diva in this white Azzaro menswear-inspired blazer with strategic piping at the Rag & Bone runway show during NY’s recent fashion week. We prefer black wide-leg trousers to the skinny pants but we guess Kate prefers the dressed down look.
Kirsten Dunst and Kate Moss also like to rock blazers…
Wanna rock your own? Try these:
We’ve all heard of the fedora–that soft felt hat creased lengthwise down the crown and pinched in the front on both sides. But these days, celebs are looking sharp in trilbies–a type of fedora with a narrow brim and deeply indented crown. Forget bowlers! Celebs are choosing to add punch to their stylish looks with these tough stunners. Top model Agyness Deyn plays up her trilby with a Marc by Marc Jacobs scarf.
Anne Hathaway’s shrunken gray vest, white blouse, and pantsuit combo proves the menswear vest is perfect for an easy work look or a night on the town.
Here at Second City Style, we love the layered look. That’s why we especially love this cool fall trend. Why? You can wear it over a button-down blouse, over a white short-sleeve t-shirt or a long-sleeve crewneck tee, a tank, or nothing at all!
Amanda Peet loved this look at Fashion Week and Mandy Moore proves even tall girls can pull it off…
See if it can work for you…

4. Ruffled Blouse and a Pencil Skirt
Fitted white button-Downs are still hip, but this fall, celebs are kicking it up a notch with ruffles, luxe lace, and Victorian-esque tie-neck fronts. Courtney Cox pairs her Chloe blouse with a Michael Kors blazer. You can wear yours with a slim wool pencil skirt.
5. Wide-Leg Trousers
Looks like J.Lo knows the meaning of menswear! The sheer blouse and vest are so utterly business-like, but what we really love are the crisp black wide-legs. The tight high-waist top and flared out bottoms slim down legs but polish the outfit. Skinny jeans are out. As the weather turns crisp, so does the fashion and these trousers are the perfect punchy touch.
Victoria Beckham and Mary-Kate Olsen stand out in these extra-wide tweed pleasers…
