I’m taking what I learned from the Spring ’08 shows and exploring how to make some of those trends work this fall.
If you’re like me, it’s hard to wait a season to try the new looks you’re currently seeing on the runway.
And after attending New York Fashion Week, it’s impossible. So now that
I’ve had a chance to let everything sink in, I’m deciding which I’m
definitely going to try, which I’ll probably avoid and what I can incorporate into my wardrobe this fall.
Although the designers were showing Spring/Summer, it’s fun to pick
apart the details and look for them in jackets, dresses, pants and
shoes that you’ll be buying as the weather gets cooler.
All About The Collar
As reported in the SCS blog, a very present spring trend was petal collars and an overall focus on the neckline. Get ahead of the curve this winter with an exaggerated collar jacket like Stella McCartney’s cotton hooded cropped jacket with oversized hood. Or try Rebecca Taylor’s leopard rolled neck coat. Look for collars that are tall, asymmetrical or for broad, off-the-shoulder styles.
