We kick off this year’s Second City Style Second Annual…The Twelve Days of Christmas (Shopping) with Andra Naylor. Every day for the next 11 weekdays (or so) we will post a new contributing writer or editor’s wish list or holiday recommendations. Check back for your favorites.
This season I’m thinking of gift-givers. I’m going to make it as easy as
possible for them to buy me fabulous presents. So I’m sticking to accessories –
they’re easy to wrap, travel well, and I don’t need to be there to try them on.
I haven’t worn clip-on earrings since my dress-up days, but these leather
ones are too darling to pass up. Malababa earrings. Made in Spain. Available at
Give me funky, chunky shoes and I’m a happy girl! I love Sigerson Morrison’s
gladiator sandals in suede. I’d wear them with black opaque tights until I can go
bare-legged in spring. $196 at Nordstrom.
I’m loving the
tri-color stackable rings I’m seeing everywhere. I’m particularly fond of Adina
Reyter’s hand-hammered gold and silver rings ($450 at shopintution).
also crazy for Stella McCartney anything, especially her PETA-friendly handbags,
like her saddle bag in white faux leather. It’s a beauty. $1,095 at
Hayden-Harnett is a favorite at SCS so I was pleasantly
surprised to see their coin purses in the winter Anthropologie magazine. $18 at
Lastly but not leastly, I’m asking Santa for a pair of Juicy Couture socks. I feel like socks are one of those gifts, like underwear,
that most people wouldn’t necessarily look forward to, but when they’re fun,
striped knee socks to wear peaking out of tall boots, it’s all good. $28 each at
