Not fair! If you were lucky enough to have traveled France or England in recent weeks you might have landed yourself a rocking cool pair of Gap shoes from a capsule collection by
Pierre Hardy. Fret not. We all may soon
be able to get our hands on a pair Stateside. Hopefully this spring. The line, which includes men’s and women’s footwear, is part of
Gap’s Design Editions program that initially targets the European
market. Hopefully Gap will do a better job strategizing their promotions for this collection than they did for the Roland Mouret capsule collection of dresses last year. Stay tuned. Hardy is the mastermind behind this fall’s outrageous Balenciaga shoe collection.

Hardy first grabbed attention back in 1988 by creating footwear for
Christian Dior. He is also a noted artist, as well as being a skilled
editorialist, creating the accessories pages for Vogue Homme
International. Hardy has also design men’s and women’s shoes for Hermes. He launched his own label in 1999, adding
men’s shoes two years later, and opened his first Pierre Hardy store in
Paris in 2003.
