Style Ideas. Plaid Tops: Add Some Pep to Your Prep.

December 11, 2007 • Fashion

Mad for plaid? Invest in a shirt….it’s not a full commitment. Go ahead and dabble. Don’t spend a ton, because let’s face it, this shirt may not see the light of day next fall.

Now before you go dashing towards your man’s closet looking for his L.L. Bean finest worn-in Paul Bunyan shirt, there is a trick to pulling off the flannel shirt and not looking like a dude.

How to wear a plaid shirt: Think feminine cuts with pintucks, pleating, ruffles or some sort of frill. Tuck said shirt/blouse into your favorite dark-as-night skinny jeans then tuck said skinny jeans into your sexiest 4 inch heel leather boots and top off with a black cropped leather jacket! Add one fab designer handbag and stir.

How not to wear a plaid shirt: Do not wear a man’s lumberjack style shirt untucked over your favorite ripped baggy jeans tucked into your Uggs. Ew.
