Designer. Donna Karan’s Self-Doubt.

January 11, 2008 • Fashion

According to today’s Page Six, DONNA KARAN didn’t start as the talented drapping guru we adore. The designer admitted on yesterdays’ Dr. Mehmet Oz‘s XM Radio show,
back when she was a fashion student at Parsons, she had honest concerns
she’d ever make it in the biz. "I loved fashion. But I wasn’t a very good student.
Failed typing, failed draping, you know. I had a little ADD problem.
Sewing? Oh, forget it. I burnt my dress. They told me I would never
make it as a fashion designer at all," said Karan.

Good thing she stuck with it!

Leave it to Donna Karan to make ADD the new “it” accessory. I’m glad someone finally did!
