NY Fashion Week Fall ’08. Erin Fetherston’s Spring for Fall.

February 2, 2008 • New York Fashion Week Fall '08

Summary: If fashion is said to be moving back towards a more sophisticated silhouette and the young baby-doll look is out, then Erin Fetherston missed the memo. Maybe it was the pouring rain that soured my outlook, but I felt I had seen all of these looks before. True, nobody does girly-girl like Erin Fetherston and she certainly delivered, however, if you were looking forward to seeing how she evolved her style she fell a little short. The show entitled "Love Spring" was a mix between springy chiffon floral frocks and heavy dark, wool mini drop-waist dresses, bubble skirts and blazers. It just wasn’t flowing, nor was I feeling it. There were a few standout pieces like the long black chiffon gown with a spray of floral pattern and a long flowing ivory gown (sashayed down the catwalk by a zombie) that is sure to be seen on a Rachel Zoe celeb client. However, in the end I left the show rather non-pulsed and thinking I might have liked it better last year.
