NY Fashion Week Fall ’08. Lela Rose: Still the Prettiest Flower of Them All.

February 3, 2008 • New York Fashion Week Fall '08

Summary: Lela Rose is the master of girly-girl yet decidedly adult frocks. This season the Texan native delivered pretty much every look imaginable…much to her fan’s delight. There were colorful duffel jackets, sequined balloon and tulip skirts (some with sheer tulle), pencil skirts and wide-leg pants. But let’s face it, what we adore Rose most for are her dresses! They included tiered,
taffeta, tank, one-shoulder, inside out, chiffon, and our favorite; a fuschia gazar tiered strapless dress that is sure to be show stopper at any society function whether in Dallas or New York. Thankfully, Rose gave us some color. We were starting to get a little depressed from the "Triscut" and "Wheat Thin" colors we have been seeing too much on the runway this season. Bring on the greens, teals, metallics and fuschia!

Color Palette: midnight navy, lapis, peacock (teal), goldfinch, dove, mallard (green), ivory, wheat, loden, gold, fuschia, concord, graphite

Textures & Details: cashmere, tweed, patent tweed, organza, wool, wool gauze, gazar, silk, double-face, burnout, sparkle, pailletes, feather embroidery embellishments, dots, tiers, sequins, seaming, tie back, chunky plastic bead necklaces some with plastic bows and Lela Rose Payless fall 2008 shoes

Key Looks: etched tweed bow front dress; cardinal looped paillette racer back tank dress; fuschia floral embroidered tank dress; dove taffeta trench, graphite printed sequin tank and loden full wool pant; fuschia gazar tiered strapless dress; concord dot gazar dress with ruffle sleeve; peacock silk and wool tieback dress; ivory silk and wool tie back dress
