NY Fashion Week Fall ’08. Thakoon Takes Tweed to ’80s Mod

February 4, 2008 • New York Fashion Week Fall '08

Summary: Intermixing patterns seemed to be Thakoon’s forte on the runway. Mustard yellow tweeds, blocked red mini shifts, and even paisley dominated the fall preview during New York Fashion Week. The ensembles themselves created an overwhelmed—and at times confused—reaction; yet the individual pieces proved credibility to wear with a more muted palette.

Color Palette: midnight blue, black, paisley,  white, olive, brick red, canary, gray, eggplant, hot pink

Textures & Details: tweed, wool, twill, chiffon, cotton, silk

Key Looks: button-collared trench, pencil skirt suit, blocked prints, sleeveless shifts, high-waisted skirts, off-the-shoulder peasant blouses, skinny belts, grandpa cardigans
