NY Fashion Week Fall ’08. Narciso Rodriguez. His Usual Precision with Amped Up Sexiness.

February 5, 2008 • New York Fashion Week Fall '08

Summary: How do you create something sexy and provocative, while maintaining a modern sophistication? In the past decade Narciso Rodriguez has never had a problem with the latter, and last night he proved just how well he could achieve the former. To the sound of bombastic violins turned electronica, he sent down his signature talents: architecturally precise coats and dresses, and amped them all up with thigh high boots, exposed backs, and black elastane leggings. Best of all were the peacock feathers and safety orange pieces, which stole the show. And never one to forget his roots, the garments embroidered with metal in geometric designs showed just how loyal Rodriguez is to his protractor.

As a whole, this collection was sexier than usual. It was obvious that Rodriguez had one thing on his mind – and it’s safe to assume that his new partner, Liz Claiborne, hopes sex will sell.
