NY Fashion Week Fall ’08. Richard Chai. Winter Delight.

February 6, 2008 • New York Fashion Week Fall '08

Summary: Richard Chai is on a roll. Somewhere among adding
resort and pre-fall to his line-up, designing a menswear line and shopping for
a space for his first stand-alone retail store, he managed to produce a
powerful women’s collection for fall. The looks progressed nicely, with those
that could easily be worn to the office to skirts and dresses ideal for dinner
and a drink.

Color Palette: Dark green and ivory, punctuated with bright
bursts of color

Textures & Details: A contrast of hard and soft,
floating and edgy; chiffon, sequins, shearling, knits, brocade

Key Looks: bright orange skirt with puffy fur vest and
blouse; cropped brown jacket with some serious hardware paired with slouchy
flannel pants and boots; purple cocktail dress
