Last year, Donna Karan founded the Urban Zen Initiative, a program to raise awareness and funds for a range of causes including wellness, preserving cultures, and empowering children. Now, she is selling items from her own closet and home to benefit the Initiative, a sale she hopes will eventually become an annual private event and include other designers as well. The designer hopes her artifacts, clothing, and home goods she has collected over the past 30 years will provide inspiration for other designers, as they did for her. The event will take place March 14 and 15 at the Stephen Weiss Studio at 711 Greenwich Street in New York City.
