Who’s Looking Amazing This Spring and Why

It’s not time to put away those tweed skirts, and wool coats just yet, but spring is well on its way — and celebs have turned up the heat — veritably outdoing each other in the latest looks and hottest fashions. But while we’re definitely not going for some spring trends that include Ashlee Simpson’s tight spandex or Ashley Olsen’s grandmother glasses, here are a few celebs that our grabbing our attention with pretty, low-key, but trendy spring pieces that really keep us wanting more — and waiting eagerly for spring to come soon.

Lauren Conrad
Why She’s Looking Good This Spring: To date, Lauren has her own reality show, her own line, and we recently got a glimpse of her very first fashion show on the runway at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Los Angeles. What more could a girl ask for? But why isn’t she lapping up all the attention? What we love about LC from The Hills is that she’s not going out of her way to wear something flashy or sexy (and in her twenties, she could definitely pull it off. Instead, she chooses to wow us with demure and easy sundresses, solid-colored two-tiered dresses (like the one from her line she wore to her runway), boots and cardigan knits. She continues to play up a low-key, classic style without going for the overkill and remaining a veritable fashion apple of our eyes!

Get her look: Pick a pretty dress — Lauren Conrad approved — from the spring collection of her line. We’re going for the sexy, yet understated Natonia with an empire waist and deep V neckline.

Drew Barrymore
Why? Yes, Drew looks happy with boyfriend Justin Long. Truly happy. But she looked happy with Fabrizio, too. And Tom Green and Spike Jonze and all the other boyfriends the pretty girl had on her arm since her teens and twenties. This time, though, it shows in her clothes. We were never such a fan of Drew’s consistent skinny jeans and sneakers combo and she hasn’t stopped wearing them. She hasn’t lost her individual skater-punk meets indie chic style, but now it seems that she’s paying attention to the latest looks and pulling them off with ease – and we like it! She’s was on lots of Who Wears It Best lists when she wore the same banded-waist Gucci color block dress as Rachel McAdams and though many picked Rachel as the winner, we loved how she pulled it off with classic black stockings, patent leather booties, and gloves! Thank god she lost that horrendous poncho she once wore while out for a stroll with then-beau Fabrizio Morretti. That thing had to go.

Get her look: Go for Gucci. After all, Drew is the face of the high-class label. But if you can’t go for Gucci, go for color block. We think you’ll love this Zac Posen Dovetail tank dress.

Rachel Bilson
Paris who? Whether Rachel’s in Zac Posen or a Harlow t-shirt, she’s always so well-put together, adding key pieces like a pretty cardigan, red Ray-Bans, a leather jacket, a cool scarf, fancy shoes, or a yellow bag that pops. But she doesn’t demand attention like some of her, ahem, peers. Adding a luxe touch like to her casual outfits is good enough for this OC star, who recently did away with a boring hairdo and got bangs. She wore her cool new do to a Tokyo movie premiere for her new flick Jumper, and topped it off with an ombre Zac Posen dress and Christian Louboutin heels. Whether it’s casual chic or dressy do, this classy girl’s got shimmering spring sass and we want it!

Get her look: If you don’t go for Zac Posen, definitely go for something trendy, but casual chic. We could totally see Rachel in a Dolce & Gabbana leather bomber jacket and Rock & Republic Audrie sweater.
Dolce & Gabbana Leather Bomber Jacket $2950
Rock & Republic Audrie Sweater $396
