Last night Saks Fifth Avenue and the Steppenwolf Auxiliary Council hosted a cocktail party and Zac Posen fashion presentation to benefit Steppenwolf (Theatre) Young Adults. A fashionable crowd showed up at Murphy Auditorium, many decked in Zac Posen dresses and separates in honor of fashion designer Zac Posen.
The young and handsome Zac was quite friendly as he milled about the crowd. You don’t have to have a great personality to be a great designer, but in this case it certainly helps.
After everyone enjoyed their fill of Moet & Chandon and hors d’oeuvres a whirlwind fashion presentation took place. Luckily we already saw Zac Posen’s Fall 2008 Ready to wear line, because the speeding models didn’t even stop at the end of the runway! However, this made it an exciting and upbeat show.
Second City Style had the opportunity to ask Zac Posen a few of questions.
SCS: We saw so many different trends for fall…what do you think will be the top 5 trends for Fall 2008?
2 – Satin and Organza combinations,
3 – Steel Grey in all fabric ranges
4 – Bubble Skirts,
5 – Embellishments such as stones, jewels, beading, and sequins.
SCS: What is your favorite piece in your fall 08 collection?
Zac Posen: I love look 10. I think the length of the sleeve, just above the wrist is incredibly sexy and the pop of canary yellow for the winter is surprising and refreshing.
SCS: What was the best advice that anyone ever gave you?
Zac Posen: To never stop asking good questions of yourself and others.
SCS: Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Zac Posen: Continuing to strive toward greatness
From what we saw last night, the next ten years look very bright.
