Saturday night, figures from both Hollywood and Washington D.C. gathered at the Washington Hilton for the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner. While in recent years, it has grown more and more common to see comedians and celebrities, along with talking heads and White House press, at the dinner to help roast the current president, this year seemed to take the glam-ification of the event to a whole new level. For instance, why in the world would the protagonist and villainess of The Hills be there, except to look pretty for cameras and draw attention to the event? (We’re covering it–they did their job!) Other attendees included everyone from Pamela Anderson, Martha Stewart, The Jonas Brothers and Rob Lowe
to politicians such as former Secretary of State Colin Powell, former Speaker of the House
Newt Gingrich and former Clinton campaign consultant Mark Penn. Well, here are some of the looks that appeared, whether their wearers had any business being there or not:
Despite our love/hate for her, her show, her appearance at this event, and giving her face-time on our blog, the young starlet looks very appropriate for an evening in the nation’s capital. We really prefer her shorter hair from the show though! Where’d it go? Oh and, take our word for it that Lauren looked way better than Heidi Montag, as usual.
The presidential candidate’s daughter looks like her dress could use a good steam. A good look can be ruined in the details. If she winds up living in the White House, we’re sure she’ll figure that out. See more of her night at her blog.
Another celeb keeping it classy and fabulous. Well done! Although we’d rather not see another strapless black gown. We know that this event is not one at which to go too crazy with color, but isn’t it Spring? Give us something!
Greta van Susteren
Oh Greta, just because you have the keen and penetrating legal mind of any man, doesn’t mean you have to dress like one! Although the flared cuffs are a nice touch on the tux, a more feminine suit would have been so much better.
