This weekend I’m headed to Sonoma County in northern California’s famed wine country. Although I’ve never been there before, I have a pretty good idea of exactly what I want to wear while I’m sipping wine or driving along the coast.

For the four-hour plus plane ride, I’ll be sure to wear something comfortable yet presentable, like a loose tuxedo blazer with skinny jeans and a tank (check out all the hot styles at ), and would love to proudly tote a Stella McCartney for Lesportsac carryon case in “dirty pink” ($220 at ). The quilted laptop sleeve is also hard to pass up, as is the hanging travel kit (an essential for any frequent flier).

I’ve read that Sonoma is more casual than Napa, but I can’t think of a more versatile outfit for wine tasting, pic-nicking and strolling through quaint towns than a sun dress with cardigan and gladiator sandals. I’ve had my eye on a pair of Sam Edelman “Gildas” ($89 at and know I can depend on BCBG for the essential day dress, like their darling cotton poplin dress in stripes ($238 at

For evening, I’m thinking feathers. Not like a boa, but plume-inspired looks that are California cool and completely relevant for a gourmet dinner featuring locally grown cuisine. I love Edun’s “Ethos” feather dress made of organic cotton ($125 at or might try incorporating the motif in the form of jewelry. Maya Brenner designs offers a versatile interpretation with her mixed charm necklace ($330 at

Speaking of accessories, I also love the playful paw print necklace by Helen Ficalora at ($35) and was on a hunt for an oversized envelope clutch, when I cam across a vintage inspired leather one by Gustto for $520 (also at that I think will do the job just fine.

No matter where you’ll be or what plans you have, hope you have a fashionable summer weekend!
