Well, there seems to be an awards show for pretty much everything these days and last night’s 67th Annual Peabody Awards at New York’s Waldorf-Astoria was no exception. I’ve heard of the Peabody’s but had no clue what they were.
According to Wikipedia:
The Peabody Awards are annual, international awards for excellence in radio and television broadcasting. First awarded in 1941 for programs from the previous year, they are considered the oldest honors in electronic media.
The Peabody Awards were originally only for radio, but in 1948, television awards were introduced. In the late 1990s additional categories for material distributed via the World Wide Web were added. Materials created solely for theatrical motion picture release are not eligible.
OK, so there you have it. Of course all we care about is the fashion. If there is a red carpet and celebrities….we’re in! However, it seems that only a couple of women really cared about looking their best for this red carpet opportunity. Apparently the award is not ‘glam’ enough to warrant a stylist for most.
Let’s take a look shall we? We will start with the best and move our way down the ladder….way down the ladder. Oh and on a side note: did they really need to leave the bright red tape marker on the ground which shows up so brilliantly in all the photos? Puleez.
OK, I love Tina Fey, but couldn’t she have stepped up her game a bit? Come on! We have seen her try before. She looks rather elegant in designer togs. This outfit speaks volumes what she must think about this award. Intended or not, she looks like she just came from the office.
