Chicago welcomes a Louis Vuitton store inside Michigan Avenue’s Nordstrom! The new pairing is a result of Vuitton leasing a department from the larger retailer, and the 2,000-square-foot shop was unveiled last week, across from the designer shoe department. It offers leather goods like handbags and luggage, as well as men’s and women’s accessories, like ties, sunglasses, and shoes. For Nordstrom, the deal’s benefits include enhancing its luxury good business, which has proved reliable even in the current economic downturn. Representing Vuitton’s first partnership with a department store in 13 years, the leased shop will be the brand’s fifth location in the Chicago area. No sales predictions have been released by either partner, but here’s hoping for the best!
