According to WWD, Stephen Jones is to play a role in the forthcoming Coco Before Chanel
film, starring Audrey Tautou — making its hats, of course.
The high-end British milliner should be an excellent choice, both to play the role and make the hats, since he has been called the best hat-maker since Schiaparelli in the 1930s. He has worked with Vivienne Westwood, Claude Montana, Thierry Mugler, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and Rei Kawakubo, and designed headgear for Marilyn Manson, Pink, Gwen Stefani, Beyonce Knowles, and Alison Goldfrapp.
About Tatou playing Coco Chanel, Jones stated: "She will make a wonderful Chanel, she is equally as petite. We have
had to adjust everything. We put a little flower on her head and it
looked like a cushion." We’re excited about the film and its fashions, and Jones’ involvement with them!
