Apparently, pancake makeup is making a comeback! The thick, opaque makeup is now going by the title "high-definition" makeup, and is growing in popularity as fast as HD-TV! According to JC Report, many brands are developing movie-camera style makeup. Supposedly, the cosmetics are no longer cakey and make your skin look totally flawless on camera, even a hi-def one.
Will this transfer to everyday wear for regular women? Questionable. The article reports, "In an era when beauty experts encourage women to
wear less foundation and cover-up in order to let the skin’s natural
beauty shine through, it’s surprising that many commercial makeup
brands are getting into high def." We agree that less is more in the foundation category. However, this hasn’t stopped Smashbox, Clinique, Lancôme, and Cargo from developing HD products. We’re still not sure of the difference between HD and regular mascara, but the blush and foundation variations seem pretty self-explanatory. Check out the products below:
